Patricia Barmatz is a colored pencil artist that specializes in equine/equestrian horse art paintings, dog and cat paintings and wildlife art. She has always had a love for animals especially horses. Painting animals with children is a special love for Patricia.  Seeing the children enjoying the company of their pets is a joy for her to paint. 

Patricia loves painting all disciplines of the equestrian sports including hunter/jumper, western horse riding (with or without the cowboy or cowgirl in the painting), horse racing, dressage, fox hunts and any other equestrian sport. And of course, any portrait of the different breeds of horses including thoroughbreds, warmbloods, paint horses, andalusians, friesans, quarter horses, gypsy vanners and more.  Visit her Equine Art page to see her most recent horse artwork.

Patricia spends alot of time on the detail of every painting to capture the expressions and likeness of each subject.  Top materials are always used to produce the best painting possible. Prismacolor and Faber Castell pencil are the main pencils used for her colored pencil art projects.  She also works with acrylic paint and water color with the colored pencil to produce a mixed media painting. She uses many different top quality paper and chooses the paper depending on the animal subject and background in the painting.

Painting pets is another favorite for Patricia.  She has painted many dogs and cats including pugs, labrador retrievers, pit bull, siberian husky and the mixed breeds.
